Ndutu

Ndutu is made mostly of sweeping grasslands and occupies the area towards the Northwest border of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stretching into the South Serengeti.
The Ndutu Plains Camp is a seasonal mobile camp. At this time of year its in a prime location for wildebeest calving season.

The bat-eared fox has unusually enormous ears in proportion to its head. This gives them enhanced hearing to locate prey like termites and also thermoregulation, helping them dissipate heat in hot, arid environments.
Unlike most carnivores, cheetahs do not have great night vision. Instead cheetahs are primarily diurnal, hunting in the early morning and late afternoon
We were lucky to photograph a martial eagle – these birds are very shy.
Kori Bustards can weigh up to 40lbs.
Leopards are hard to find as they blend in so well. It’s usually easier to find the mass of vehicles looking at a tree.
There are over 7,000 elephants in the area

Lions are the main attraction of the Ndutu plains, where the photo opportunities are amazing!
